YouTube Brings QR Codes to All Channels

YouTube is now rolling out QR codes for all channels, after testing them with select channels. These QR codes provide a convenient way to promote your channel and content, allowing users to easily scan and follow your channel. To access your QR code, go to the “You” tab in the YouTube app, select “Share Channel,” and then tap “QR code.” You can save or display this code for others to scan. While QR codes have had varying levels of popularity in the past, this new feature could offer a useful tool for growing your audience and promoting your content. Given the cyclical nature of QR code trends, it might be worth experimenting with this functionality to see if it effectively increases your subscribers.

IKEA recreate iconic blue bag as a symbol of rest

Singapore, known for its high levels of sleep deprivation, often struggles to prioritise rest amidst its busy lifestyle. In response, IKEA aims to support Singaporeans in achieving balance through its new campaign, "Leave the rest to IKEA." The centrepiece of this initiative is the RESTEN bag, a reimagined version of the iconic blue FRAKTA bag. This innovative bag combines comfort and practicality, functioning both as a stylish accessory and a makeshift pillow for on-the-go rest. The launch includes the RestFest event at IKEA, celebrating sleep and relaxation. The RESTEN bag is available through a social media contest and at IKEA stores during the event from September 6-8, 2024.

Burger King presents ‘Whopper Tattoo’ reward barcodes

Burger King Korea, launched a campaign called "Whopper Tattoo" to promote its newly upgraded Whopper. As part of Burger King’s 40th anniversary celebrations in South Korea, the campaign featured temporary tattoos with embedded reward barcodes. During July and August, people could choose from 50 flame-themed tattoo designs, which were applied by a Tattoo King in busy areas like Haeundae, Busan, and Gangnam, Seoul. Scanning the tattoo at Burger King kiosks earned them a free Whopper and soft drink. The tattoos, made with safe, cosmetic ingredients, are washable and last two to three days. The campaign proved highly successful, with around 8,000 participants and a significant 208% increase in restaurant sales. The initiative was promoted via Burger King Korea’s website, social channels, and mobile app.

TikTok has a new in-app experience for Sabrina Carpenter's new album

TikTok has launched a special in-app experience and effect to celebrate Sabrina Carpenter's new album, *Short n' Sweet*. This feature immerses fans in the album’s world and offers a chance to be highlighted in a fan spotlight carousel. To participate, users must complete five interactive tasks, including following Carpenter, engaging with her new music, and using her songs and hashtags in their posts. Fans can also access an exclusive profile frame and use Carpenter’s unique TikTok effect. To join the experience, fans should search for "Short n' Sweet" or "Sabrina Carpenter" on TikTok, or engage with relevant hashtags to be directed to the experience.
