Study Shows Young Consumers Are Increasingly Turning to Social for Discovery

While it likely comes as no surprise to learn that younger audiences are far more likely than older groups to use social platforms for product discovery, it is interesting to know what people are searching for, specifically, within social platforms, and what they still turn to Google for when in need. That’s what the team from Forbes Advisor sought to find out in their latest study, for which they partnered with Talker Research to survey 2,000 U.S. internet users to get their insights into their evolving discovery behaviours. The main finding? Young people are increasingly using social apps,TikTok and Instagram in particular, for business discovery purposes.

Slide Into Smoothness With Heineken Silver Campaign in Vietnam

As part of a football campaign, Heineken Vietnam has connected football’s most epic celebratory knee slides with the taste of Heineken Silver in a campaign called ‘Enjoy the Smoothness’. ‘Enjoy the Smoothness’ works like this: during live football matches, for every goal celebrated with a player sliding smoothly, Heineken rewards fans with real-time discounts of Heineken Silver, delivered instantly by Grab. To make this possible, they created a custom machine learning model combining two data sets, then used visual data analysis to detect when the slides started and ended. They also used live player data from the matches to calculate the distance of each player’s slide. The longer the slide, the bigger the discount.
